MARCH MADNESS
Welcome to the Big Dance Club -
THE Interactive March Madness Competition
A pretty sloppy game in the first half with Houston stone cold behind the arch and Florida with 9 turnovers. Second half was herky-jerky until the last 8 minutes when things got real. Damn good finish to a worthy championship game. The Gators again would not be denied. Tough one for the Cougars losing yet another final game.
Hunter stays at 53 wins and shares the all-time win record! Not bad for a Rookie. ;-) Four more competitors blew past the 2nd place record of 49 wins. Kudos to Sam Davis for a gutty 2nd place finish. Also a Rookie in the Club, Mike Franklin duked it out for a 3rd place finish. Joe Peper has again scored in the money, which is getting to be a routine for him, I think every year the past 4 or 5 years running.
For the first time ever a competitor picked only favorites the entire tourney and still finished in the money, Ken Shoemaker takes 9th. But his long time friend & rival William Peper squeaked past him going opposite in the final game (the smack talk these two exchange by email is a stitch). And climbing 27 places from 39th to 12th, Derek Crombie is the Comeback Kid.
Great fun as always and we'll be back for Big Dance Club 29 next year.

Pick each round as they happen. The competitor with the most correct games picked out of 63 is the Champ.
Tie-breakers include: 1) Upsets: Correctly picking a lower seeded team defeating a higher seed.
2) Upset Ratio: If you correctly pick a #12 seed to defeat a #5 seed, you get 7 points in that column.
3) Total Points (which has never been needed): For every correct game chosen, you get points equal to the winning team's final score. See last year's Final Results below showing how the tally works.
Picks must be registered before the tip-off of the first game of the round. You must enter picks for all games for both days of the Round of 64 and Round of 32 before the round begins.
If it is near the start of a round and the website or pick form is not allowing you to register your picks, email your picks directly to The Poolmaster at bigdanceclub2@gmail.com. If you do not send picks in time for a round, you will automatically receive all the favorites for that round (which actually doesn't hurt sometimes), but you forego opportunities to select upsets in the round.
Starting in the Sweet 16 Round through the Championship Game, if you are trailing a particular competitor that you are trying to catch, you will have the option to have your picks match or "go opposite" that competitor. This applies only to a competitor who is ahead of you. See more details on how this works here.
And if you get off to a really bad start... stay in the competition. You might win the Comeback Kid Award. See the Comeback Kid Award page to see you can still compete for some dough.

6th-9th Place: $15 - you played for free
4th-5th Place: $30 - double your money
3rd Place $45 - triple back
2nd Place $60 - quadruple back
Champion - Rest of the pot - always over $200.
