Round of 32 Final
Definitely some excitement on Sunday. How about the Hawkeyes?! Kudos to Morgan as the only competitor to pick Iowa, which took her literally out of last place. St. Johns at the buzzer...! The B1G is looking strong with 6 teams in the Sweet 16, including a cross-border rivalry game between Iowa and Nebraska. Will we see any more #1 and #2 seeds fall? There are going to be some tough picks to make in the Sweet 16.
Don't forget, starting in the Sweet 16 and through the end of the tourney you can strategically pick against 1 competitor who is ahead of you in each round. See the details on the With/Opposite picks page.
Chris is staying on a run. But as past participants know, the leader after the first weekend isn't guaranteed the crown. Those with more tie-breaker upsets like Ben and Paul are in a good position. Last year's champ, Hunter, is climbing the board too. Let's hear it for the kid, Gus. With 15 more games to pick, don't give up, especially you Comeback Kid competitors.
Round of 32 Half-Round
Well... one hates to say it, but the "Curse of the NIL-Transfer Portal" is manifesting itself for the second year in the Big Dance. The good teams get better and everyone else looks from a distance. Only 1 upset Saturday, only 1 double-digit seed will make it to the Sweet 16. The Final Four is likely to have only #1 and #2 seeds. Last year had four #1's. The picks may get tougher though, deciding if Duke or UConn will represent the East, etc.
Chris Herberger is holding his lead. but the beginner's luck thing is back. Gus Stephenson is a Rookie... and I'll let you know he's a kid... like 10 or 11 years old and he's beating his old man, Ben. And the tradition of never having a repeat Champion is on track. The Top 10 only includes a couple former champs, including 2025 Hunter Sox and 2024 Ed Peper. There will be still be a lot of bumping in the Leaderboard paint in next weekend, anyone could get hot in the final 15 picks. Hopefully we'll see some close games yet and maybe an overtime or two.
